Always remember God is not working to deliver to you your personal definition of happiness. God is after something better and that is your Holiness. So we need to alter our definition of what a good God should be in our life. We assume that a good God should give us a comfortable, pleasurable, predictable, and tangible life. A life that is absent of suffering. But consider God's agenda in 1 Peter 1:6-7 In all this, you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.7 These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory, and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. So remember church the difficulties that you and I are encountering in life is not a failure of God's plan, that God has abandoned you, that he is mad with you. These are signs that you are being loved by God's redemptive love and in all these things God is working something beautiful in you and through you. James 1:2-4 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds,3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
